Dental Implants

State-of-the-art implant services

Research shows that a single missing tooth can alter your bite, chewing efficiency, jaw function, and even your self-confidence. Have no fear – implants can help by recreating the look and feel of your natural teeth.

Although implants are the state-of-the-art, top-of-the-line tooth replacement option, There are three different types of tooth replacement options:

Implants

Implants serve as a replacement by mirroring the look and feel of the missing tooth more closely than any other option. The key is not to cause permanent changes to the neighboring teeth. Implants are a combination of three parts once the area of the removed tooth has healed:

  • A titanium post is implanted by the oral surgeon or periodontist into the bone below the gum line, acting as the root.
  • The abutment, which connects the post to the porcelain crown, serves as the support.
  • The crown, which is designed to replicate the look and feel of your actual tooth.

Bridge

A bridge is another great, permanent option if your dentist decides that an implant is not the best option for you.

Bridges rely on the adjacent teeth for support. Because of this, neighboring teeth must also be shaved down (using the same method as a single-tooth crown).  After the adjoining teeth have been altered and impressions have been taken, the dental lab will craft your unique bridge with three connected crowns.

Your dentist can discuss the best option for you based on your dental situation and history.

Partial Denture

Partial dentures are a cost-effective way to mask the appearance of missing teeth. This type of replacement is a removable appliance that is used as a stand-in for multiple missing teeth.

Partial dentures come in acrylic or a combination of metal and acrylic options. They are a comfortable substitute for people in need of multiple tooth replacements.  They are removable and not permanently cemented. If you are in need of replacement of numerous teeth, this may be the route suggested for you.

There are a million reasons to smile.
